The concept for the museum is inspired by an abstract calligraphy painting by a famous Pakistani artist Ismail Guljee finished in 1998. The intention was to design a museum that could pay a tribute to the late artist as he had contributed a lot in Pakistani arts & craft. The painting contains Urdu haroof (letters) Alif, Kaaf, Hay and Khay; these haroof (letters) are incorporated in the design process symbolically and non-symbolically.
